What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our website?

You may be asked for your name, address, Eircode, e-mail address and / or phone number if you want us to contact you, and if you want to adopt an animal from us, we may ask you a number of questions regarding your experience with animals, the situation and condition of the location in which the animal may be homed and about other animals in currently or previously in your care.

When do we collect information?

We may collect information from you when you fill out a form on our site, when a form is emailed to you, when a rehoming associate asks you the information during a home screening conversation or when you seek to re-home an animal in our care.
 

How do we use your information?

We use the information to match animals with suitable homes, to follow up with you afterwards, in compliance with any existing legislation, and to complete compliance reports for The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine.
 

How do we protect your information?

All information that we gather is stored using commercially viable secure systems. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is automatically encrypted before being passed from the website to our internal network, or to third party company web servers for processing eg PayPal, Wix, Airtable, Google or Facebook.

We use Cookies to improve your experience on our website and make it easier for us to process information effectively.

Third-party disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally Identifiable Information, unless we ask your permission to do so, or are required to do so in order to comply with current legislation. Situations in which this might occur are for example, the provision of animal legal owner information to microchip registration services such as FIDO.IE, the provision of EU Pet Passports for the adoption of animal outside the state, or the control of animal transporting as required by the Animal Health and Welfare Act (2013).

Occasionally we may mention third-parties providing services on our site, such as other animal rescue charities or the Kerry County Council Dog Pound. These third-parties have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites.
