Christmas is coming and while "the goose is getting fat", it is a lean time for KLAWS as donations are not so forthcoming as families prepare for the Christmas festivities.
As funds are so important at this time of the year, the KLAWS calendar was created and luckily for the last six years it has proved to be a great stocking filler, therefore helping to bolster the coffers. The Christmas cards were a later creation but these too are great sellers. They are also both great value for money, with the calendar retailing at €10.00 and the cards at €8.00.
Animal welfare does not stop at Christmas and the New Year. It can actually be one of the busiest periods. Come the New Year, people realise that the cute puppy they bought is too much of a burden so they get discarded and end up in the Pound. Or worse still, dumped in the Great Outdoors.
This is why funding is badly needed, not just for now but for the future, as KLAWS braces itself for time like these.

The moral of this story is as always " A Dog is for Life, not just for Christmas" so before you consider buying a new addition to the family, please check out your local animal welfare group and give an abandoned pet its' "Forever Home"
Please dig deep into your pockets if you can, and purchase a calendar or a pack of cards, and be assured every cent will go towards the rescues.
