Help Get Our Rescue Cats on a Tree!

May 2025

Usually, help is needed to get cats off trees; however, we’re talking about different kinds of trees here😊

Cat trees, scratch trees, scratching posts, scratchers, towers, whatever you want to call them, we are looking for your help to get our rescue cats on them!

It is true that a good quality cat tree (let’s stick with this label here for now) can last a lifetime in a regular home with maybe a couple of cats lounging around.

Some feline foster homes are a different story, however. Some of our fosterers welcome dozens of little and big kitties into their homes temporarily, and over the years this can take quite a toll on some of the equipment.

Here’s a few ‘before and after’ examples to show you what we mean:

This beautiful grey thing has been a source of fun and adventure, but also a perfect place to snuggle, for about 20 kitties:

The tree has seen some pretty good days:)

But it has done its job and has to leave and make way for a new, sturdy cat tree

And this formerly magnificent beast (let’s call it Ripped van Winkle;) was created by the loving husband of one of our volunteers and donated to a very busy feline foster home.

It has helped to foster loads of cats, big and small, and brought so many moments of joy and comfort to all those furballs, like these five black & white siblings from 2021,

…or these two best buddies from last year.

But now the time has come for it to retire. It will be dearly missed!

And even the once-famous ‘Old Thing’ is having to pack its bags, because it has served over 100 cats by now!

Not many scratching posts can say that😊

It’s been a huge magnet for every cat who’s stepped into the foster home, almost all of them have got up on it for a nap or two, or for some leisurely posing

…some (like Fluffy here) also for some serious posing😉

And though some cats have loved it even this year (like Gizzi and Ro, its most recent fans), it has done a wonderful job over the years and deserves a break. (It is getting wobblier by the minute😊)

Yes, this modest cat tree has experienced so much joy and fun, and has had to comfort some rather sad and ailing little furballs along the way.

But with a heavy heart we must say goodbye to this absolute legend of a cat tree.

***So, this is an appeal for a cat tree or two: if you have one that’s barely used and clean (or even brand new), please consider donating it to our fluffy rescues. It will be well looked after, and it will help keep so many little kitties mentally and physically stimulated, entertained and comfortable😊

If you would like to donate a cat tree, please get in touch with us here:

Or if you would prefer to donate some money so we could buy a tree or two, please follow this link and use ‘CAT TREE’ as a keyword in the comments section of the Donation Form.

Thank you from the bottoms of our purring hearts!
