5 Reasons you should adopt a cat from a rescue

Updated: Jul 29, 2022

Have you been considering adopting a cat recently? Well if you have then you have come to the right place. Today we have decided to share our top five reasons why we think everyone should adopt a cat from a rescue. Infact we are even sharing a bonus sixth reason because we couldn't just leave it at five!

Healthy with vaccinations up to date

Unless told otherwise (like a cat with a long term illness or diability for example) your new cat or kitten will have been given a clean bill of health and will also be give their most recent and up to date vaccinations. This means when you get your new friend you can rest assured that they are healthy and you don't have to worry.

Neutered or spayed before they go home

If they are an appropriate age your new cat will also have already been spayed or neutered which quite frankly is one less thing to worry about. You don't have to worry about kittens or post op care either. It will all have been done and dusted!

Temperment tested

Another handy aspect of adoption is that the adoption team will already have carried out a full accessment of your new cat so they will be able to tell you if they believe that they will be a good addition to your family. So rather than you having to bring a new cat home and work out whether they are a good fit you will already know if the cat likes other cats or dogs, whether they love the company of humans or prefer to be independant and whether they want to be inside or outside. All the hard work is done for you!

Handled and socialised

Sometimes the process of socialising, getting them used to being handled and toilet training can be stressful. Alot of the time this is already taken care of before you get your new cat. This means the early days can go alot smoother for you.

Saving a life

Of course we can't forget that you will of course be saving a life. Without amazing people like you we wouldn't be able to do what we do. Without the wonderful homes and amazing families it just would not be possible.

** Bonus Tip ** Help and support

Unlike when you buy or adopt a cat independantly, with a rescue adoption we are here to help you. Our goal is to make sure that you and you new cat have an amazing life together which means of course we are here to help when we can.
